Our local branch of the United Way, United Way Elgin Middlesex, has now donated over $379,000 to support community partners during COVID-19 in less than a months time.

Last week Grayden chatted with Kelly Ziegner, CFRE, the Chief Executive Officer at United Way Elgin Middlesex to talk about Rounds 1 & 2 of the funding and how much of that had gone to agencies in Elgin and St. Thomas.

Round 1 & 2 included funding for the West Elgin Community Health Centre ($12,000), the Salvation Army – Community Alternatives for Youth ($6,000), and the YWCA St. Thomas ($20,000).

Round 3 includes funds for YMCA Southwestern Ontario ($7,500), VON Middlesex Elgin ($17,600), and Mennonite Community Services ($14,000).
“People are counting on us right now. These social services are imperative for people to make it through this time, and thanks to the incredible support of the community, we are seeing this happen.”
